Celebrating Stories Writing Competition October 2021

This October marks the very first Celebrating Stories competition.

How to enter:

Add a Story

Every time you add a story you are adding another chance for you to win (whether your story is told in fiction, a poem, pictures, or music, or whatever else comes to mind).

Please note that you will need to join Celebrating Stories before you can enter a story. Joining is easy and free, just click on this link to become a Celebrating Stories Author.

Mark it with your age and ‘October Competition’

When adding your story you’ll find a list of ‘categories’ listing ages (normally to the right of the writing window).

Choose the age category which matches your age at the time of this competition (Week beginning 25th October 2021).

There is also a category called ‘October ’21 Competition’. To include your story in the October competition please make sure you click on this category.

Get some thumbs-ups!

Be sure to share your story with friends (and remember to pop over and see stories written by them too, you’ll find their profiles over on the ‘Authors‘ page).

We’ll use story likes to pick out the top entries each week (you can like a story by clicking the thumbs-up button at the bottom of any post).

Wait and see (fingers crossed)

As we get closer to the last week of October (week beginning the 25th), the Celebrating Stories judges will begin looking through the most liked stories and decide which ones show the best bit of storytelling for their age category.

Don’t leave it too late

Final entries will be accepted up until the 30th of October but you may not have time to build up your ‘thumbs ups’ by then.

If you want a better chance to end up with a top story, you may prefer to hold off and put your story in the next competition category (January ’22 Competition)

Win those Prizes!

The Prizes for October are prize packs. Each pack contains a selection of books and other goodies for the top story in each age category.

*UK Only

Currently, we can, unfortunately, only offer prizes to entrants living in the UK. This is due to limitations on the distribution of prizes.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We are working to find ways of involving children from all over the world but for now, we cannot get a prize to you live outside the UK.
